Baby weight - such a depressing thing fo...

I just had a baby in November. I put on not only the 25 lbs from baby weight, but an extra 45 and gained an entire 70 lbs all together. I went clothes shopping for new work clothes yesterday and I cried the entire time. What's a good idea to start losing the weight? Diet or exercise tips? Remember, I have a 2 month old and I can't drag her out in the cold to even go walking. Don't give me the whole get somebody to watch her story either, it's not an option!!

Depending on where you live, they often have mum n bub exercise classes, so you can bring your baby along with you. Ask your midwife or GP they might know of some or be able to give you some other tips for losing the extra pregnancy weight. Good luck
You probably want to start with some relitivly low impact exercise to start with, If you cant get to the gym to do any classes or workout get some home videos for yoga or pilates, That will at least be a start and it wont stress your body out. Also if this is an option you could get a tredmill or exercise bike so that you can do some exercise while you babys asleep. But once the wether warms up i would definatly reccomend walking with your baby
as for diet try to stick to unprocessed foods and lots of fruit and veg. In winter veggie soups are great because you can make a big pot full and have it there for lunch or dinner all week so you dont need to worry about trying to cook a healty meal every night of the week.
also try to snack on fruit, youghurt ect because you'll find they are more filling for the amounts of calories they have :)
hope this helps and all the best to you and your new family :)
Recently, I lost a lot of weight thanks to some frank talk from my doctor. Cut out all fast food (it isn't good for you or the baby), breastfeed (because it burns calories fast!), make sure to get at least 3 servings of fruits and veggies daily (this will be great nutrition for you and in the breast milk), eat 6 small meals a day (like if you have a sandwich only use one slice of bread and fold it or use it as a plate), cut out all unneeded sugars/fats/empty calories. I did that (without exercise) and as for myself I lost 30 lbs in a month and a half. It really just revved my metabolism and I feel great all the time...plus eating healthy fixes emotional mood swings and energy lags. Try some easy exercises from self.com and build up. Don't know if you are still hurting or not.
**Home-made soups loaded with veggies, in place of a meal or two, are great for nutrition and losing weight.**
Hope you find what works for you. Don't worry, if it took you nine months to put it on then give yourself some time to take it off. :)
I've lost a total of about 35 pounds keeping track of my calories at SparkPeople.com. It has really helped me to learn how to eat and encouraged me to eat a proper mix of carbs, fat and protein. There are even groups there for people who have specific challenges, like a new baby and some baby weight to show for it.
I've seen moms in my area use the track at the local rec center with strollers to get in a nice walk without braving the elements, but the new moms group over at SparkPeople might have more good ideas about taking off weight while balancing new mom duties.
SparkPeople.com is the absolute best way to help you lose weight. And it's free! You see exactly what you are eating, which helps you to control it. It's so easy to just eat and eat without realizing what you're putting in your body, and SparkPeople.com makes you aware of your eating habits. It also tracks your work out schedule, so you can see how many calories you take in when eating, and how many you burn when exercising. Once you're aware of the calories you take in and burn, weight loss is a lot easier! I've been a member of SparkPeople.com for about 4 years now, and I love it.
