Tips for that Hangover (from Hell)

There's nothing worse than the morning after a night of too much alcohol (or as I like to call it being "overserved"). You know that feeling when you wake up that begins with a pounding headache, nasty cotton mouth, and perhaps a few hours spent cursing to the porcelain goddess. All you want to do is stay cooped up in your dark cave (aka bedroom) and seek comfort in your bed. You promise yourself you'll never drink like that again as you may try to piece together the events from the previous night but let's keep it real...that just makes the hangover worse. Lucky for all of you lushes out there (myself on occasion) we have the top 10 hangover cures to help us heal from our self-induced hell.
10) Cucumbers – No doubt the eyes need some major TLC to de-puff…
9) Ice pack – Applying a cold compress works wonders on a throbbing head.
8) Tomato Juice – If you can’t stomach the “hair of the dog” with a Bloody Mary, then tomato juice contains sugar to help break down the alcohol in your stomach.
7) Coffee with Lemon - Lemon juice alleviates nausea and the caffeine helps shrink blood vessels that cause that pounding headache…
6) Crackers with honey – This naturally flushes the system to rid your body of alcohol fast!
5) Peppermints – Kills two birds with one stone by freshening breath and helps stop a churning stomach…
4) Gatorade – Dehydration is a major cause of a hangover; give your system a hydrating boost and replenish electrolytes with your fav flavor…
3) Bananas or better yet, banana milkshake - Bananas helps calm the stomach and the milk soothes the stomach and re-hydrates your system.
2) Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwich – The greasier, the better to soak up all those celebratory tequila shots and eggs help re-hydrate…
1) Advil – make it Extra Strength – no explanation needed…

Not a bad list. I always found a massive roast dinner sorted my hangovers out.
I haven't tried this yet, but I've heard that milk thistle is a natural remedy for a nasty hangover :D
also try drinking aloe vera juice to hydrate.
The best thing to help avoid a hangover is drinking a pint of water and eating a sandwich or something equally carbohydrate-y before you go to sleep!
Drinking water and eating something before you go to sleep always helped me as well.
When I used to work at a cafe we used to serve banana, milk, blueberry and honey smoothie... fantabulous cure for hangovers~ or I believe in the power of Emergen-C~ any flavor is good... I personally love the Acai Berry one... a tall glass of water with 2 packets of Emergen-C is has vitamins and natural energy boosters from B Vitamins and packed with loads of Vitamin C~
an allergi pill (Zyrtec) before you go to bed! Its the new thing in Norway..
a mouthful of water for every glass of alcohol you have keeps you hydrated - it works!
Some Xanax or Clonazepam.... GUARANTEED to work but you'll need a prescription for a doctor. Don't forget the Excedrin for those morning headaches..
Lots of water and hot yoga.... but you have to drink lots of water or you'll most likely faint. Or something that helps you sweat it all out...
I heard that if you take some aspirin right before you go to bed that it helps. I tried it once and it worked. Drink lots of water and they even sell salt pills at places like Walgreens that helps kick on your body's natural reaction to salt which is soak up all the water you're consuming... Dehydration is usually the reason for pounding headaches, digestive issues and faintness.
i drink Gatorade and Water after going to bed, when i wake up thirsty. But also drink a beer in the morning helps too
When I have a hangover or feel one coming on its hard 4 me to even drink water cause it comes right back up, so is there something else i could do?
Usually what I'll do to avoid the impending hangover is eat a snack, drink some water or juice, and take a couple Aleve or something of the sort. Since I've started doing that I haven't had any problems.
just drink a LOT of water...especially before you go to bed.
and coffee is a stupid idea...sorry. it just dehydrates you more, making everything that much worse. the reason why you get a headache is typically because you are dehydrated. advil and all those other painkillers are great, but they aren't actually doing anything...just hiding the problem from you. h2o is the miracle of everything haha just hit some of that and you'll be fine.
Haha, #2 should just say "McDonald's". Lol. But anyways, thanks for the list. I hadn't heard of a few of these. I knew to drink a lot of water before/while your drinking, but let's face it. After a couple 6 packs, that's the last thing on your mind. Haha!
I've heard of the banana milkshake tip once on the radio but never knew if it actually worked. Has anyone tried it and does it matter what banana to milk ratio you use?
This is a good guide for my friends, we're in our first few weeks of university so anyone can guess what kind of parties there are, luckily for me I don't get hangovers, don't know why, but I have some friends that was bed-ridden the next day! They'll definitly like this list.
Have a slice of pizza or as many BIG glasses of water you can stomach before going to bed... the best way to avoid the hangover all together!
water. loads of water.
