One of the first things I did when I moved into my house was to paint the boring beige living room a bright, vivid turquoise. Since my furniture is pretty much all black and white, the wall color could be come the star and brighten the room without going overboard. But trust me, it’s not for everyone. It’s a daring move, for sure. And if you’re a renter, who wants to have to repaint when you move out? If you’re feeling a little color-shy, try one of these colorful and chic ways to bust out the bright hues!

1. Colorblock Bookshelves
Organize your shelves by hue. Solid bright throw pillows on a white couch are a nice touch as well.
