GirlsGuideTo | 10 Things I Love About You

This past year, not only have I experienced my first love cheating on me, but also observed my dad and stepmom's 11 year marriage disintegrate after my stepmom had an affair. Having my whole world upset by all this infidelity has really been bothering me, so I wrote a poem to get my feelings out. I'm not a very creative person, and not very experienced with poetry, so I wrote my poem in the same style as the poem from the movie "10 Things I Hate About You." I hope you guys can benefit from this as well, and enjoy it. I know it has made me feel better to write it and share it.

10 Things I Love About You

I love that you betrayed me,

And made it all seem fake.

I love how much you made me doubt,

Questioning everything till it aches.

I love how much you love yourself,

And for making me look like a fool.

I love the way you place the blame on me,

And how you’re able to act so cruel.

I love how now I feel disposable,

And how easily you lie.

I love you so much I’ll let you go,

It’s time for us to say goodbye.

I love all the things we’ve left unsaid,

Despite how much we fought

Mostly I love how you replaced me,

So quickly,

After everything,

Without a second thought.

This is really quite moving. I hope you know that despite the fact you've seen two relationships break down in the past year that some relationships are worth it. It's just a case of finding the right person and knowing that you've found them.
