You had every intention of losing weight for your best friend’s wedding this weekend. For a few weeks you kept the image of your Maid of Honor dress in mind as you put in miles on the treadmill. But then work picked up and you had to put in a few late nights. And you got out of the habit. C’est la vie, honey. But now you’re freaking out, wondering if that dress is going to zip. Relax! While you’re not going to drop some serious weight in a few days, you can lose a few and melt away any bloat you got going on, perfect to look hot in all those pics! Here are 10 ways to get skinny in a week:
1. Forget Fast Food
Fast food is not your friend when you want to drop a few pounds quickly. Honestly, it’s never your friend, but that’s a different article for a different day. Trust me, you do not want all that sodium and fat in your body. Make an effort for just a week to cook all your dinners and pack your lunches. What you spend in time you’ll make up for in pounds lost.
2. Eat Small Meals More Often
I like to call this the grazing method. You don’t want to be hungry, since being over-hungry leads to giving into temptation, so try eating mini-meals throughout the day. Bonus, you’ll keep your metabolism humming!
3. Remove Temptation
Get rid of any junk food you have in your kitchen. Just throw it away. I know, I hate to waste food too, but the store will be there after the wedding or hot date and you can indulge then.
4. Use a Replacement
Though I am not a big fan of doing this long-term, following meal-replacement diets like Special K or SlimFast really does work. Simply eat two small meals, then replace two meals with a shake or meal replacement bar, and you’ll lose weight in a week. It’s an easy to way to get a jumpstart.
5. Load Up on Fruits and Veggies
It’s simple: Fruits and Veggies fill you up for the lowest calorie intake. It’s how you can get the most bang for your caloric buck. Not to mention, the fiber in fruits and veggies will help banish the bloat!
6. Kick Up Your Workout
If you’re not working out, start. If you are working out, then kick up your regimen’s intensity to help you lose weight in a week. On the elliptical and treadmill, add some time and some incline. Feel the burn!
7. Water
Need I say more? Drink water. Lots of it.
8. Skip Soda
Yes, even diet. Drink water or green tea for a caffeine boost instead!
9. Don’t Cheat
It’s only 7 days. You can do anything for a week right? Since you’re working on a condensed timeline, every little thing you put in your mouth has an impact. Just keep reminding yourself you can cheat all day long after you fit into that dress!
10. Be Realistic
Even if you do all of this, sometimes our bodies are just stubborn. You could lose 5 pounds and you could lose none. If it doesn’t work, blame it on your period and grab some spanx. No one’s really going to notice 3 pounds anyway!
