I am atrocious with doing my hair. Most days it’s down or pulled back in a pony because I really, really suck at anything else. And it’s not for lack of trying. I try really hard. I’m just not gifted with the I-can-do-my-own-hair gene. But I saw this look on Pinterest and I knew I just had to give it a go. This tutorial is super easy to follow and the style is so, so cute. I rocked it to brunch with my girls on Saturday morning (because let’s face it, I didn’t feel like washing and drying my hair) and it not only stayed in place, but got me a few compliments. It would be such a romantic look for a picnic date too! Here’s how you do it:

Start with a large, square scarf and your hair up in a messy bun. Vintage silk scarves work well because they’re soft, usually very pretty, and won’t get bulky.

Fold one corner to the other to form a triangle.

Fold the corner down to about the middle, and then fold over again (but not all the way to the edge, because you want it to be a little thicker).
Put the scarf around your head with the ends in the front, making sure the wrong side of the scarf (the part where you can see the folds) is against your head.

Tie it in a loose knot at the front. I kept the whole scarf a little on the loose side (it will stay in place).

Tuck the ends behind/underneath the scarf.

Gorgeous! Where would you wear this look?
