Fun and crazy nails are all the rage right now. Just hop on Pinterest and you will see hundreds of pictures of nail art inspiration. But honestly, do you have the time for that? I know if I even have 5 to 10 minutes to do my nails, I’m lucky. Hence why most of the time they are bare…but anyway, one of the trends I love this season is bright and happy neon nails. I think they are so great. They instantly add a pop to a boring work outfit and can be an easy way to try the trend if you’re not sure you really want to commit.

French mani’s are the classic go-to for one and all when you want to look polished, right? So why not add a little splash of color to this plain-jane look? Neon is perfect! Now I know what you’re thinking, this is great and all, but I don’t have the skills to make this happen. Well, here’s a secret, it’s a rare girl that can freehand a French mani. So when I found this tutorial, I jumped on the chance to share with you ladies. The secret? Use paper hole reinforcements. You know, those stickers that look like donuts! Here’s a step-by-step guide to perfect neon digits!

Step 1: Apply a base coat and let dry. It’s important that it is completely dry before you proceed.

Step 2: Apply paper reinforcements to your nail.

Step 3: Paint a neon color on the tip, or really whatever color you would like to use. {The color shown is Sinful Collection’s Neon Melon.} Use 2 light coats for coverage. Thick coats are not advisable because it leaves a ridge.

Step 4: Remove tape or reinforcement AFTER the polish has dried.

Step 5: Apply a clear coat and enjoy!

If you want to save more money, try cutting the stickers in half to stretch them out or check out dollar stores!
