Daily Distraction: 11 Bad iPhone Habits

Happy birthday iPhone! It’s hard to believe you are only 5! It feels like you have been in our lives forever. Since 2007, Strategy Analytics reports, Apple has sold 250 million of these devices. Meaning sales have generated some 150 billion for the company within the last five years. The iPhone is the world's most popular smartphone, helping its users with everything from communicating with friends and consuming media to taking silly retro photos to conducting bank transactions.
While we couldn't imagine life without our iPhones, we're also admittedly a little obsessed with them. In a recent study, it was found 58 percent of Americans feel the need to check their phone every hour of the day. Every hour! And that's not even the worst of it.
Huffington Post compiled a list of the worst habits we've developed because of our iPhones. Have a look (and a laugh) at their (ok, and our) expense, then tell us in the comments if your smartphone affects your behavior.
1. Texting in the Bathroom
(Come on, you’ve done it too.)
2. We Reach For The iPhone As Soon As We Wake Up...
...It's also the last thing we check before we go to sleep.
3. We Spend Way Too Much Money In The App Store
It's practically a line item in our budget.
4. We Take Photos Of EVERYTHING
We’ve already talked about our obsession with stupid Instagram pics…but we just. can’t. stop.
5. We Have An Unhealthy Addiction To Angry Birds
Or Words with Friends. Or Draw Something. Pick your poison.
6. Any Outlet We See Has Us Quickly Reaching For Our iPhone Charger
Getting a plug at an airport is like the survival of the fittest!
7. We Never Take Off Our Headphones
Hearing loss and strange stares (because everyone thinks you’re talking to yourself…) be damned.
8. We Send A Lot Of Typo-Laden Texts
This has resulted in a few misunderstandings...
9. We Obsessively Check Our Maps App...
...Even when there are visual landmarks or street signs in sight. And don't even think about asking another person for directions.
10. We Stare At Our Screens Too Often During Meals
We all know this is rude…and yet, still do it all the time!
11. We Aimlessly Scroll Through Apps While We're Waiting Around
Useful while waiting for the bus or avoiding awkward social situations. No one will talk to you if you look busy!
