Daily Distraction: F*CK! I’m in My Twenties

If you’re in your twenties or have been in your twenties at some point then you are going to love this distraction. “F*CK! I’m in My Twenties' is a Tumblr of drawings that pretty much sums up what it’s like to be a Millenial. You know. Crappy jobs. Confusing relationships. The like. I’m telling you, it’s like she’s both poking fun and making me feel better about the issues of my life.
The “she” behind the drawings is 24-year old Emma Koenig, who like most of us, has, “amassed all the accouterments of her generation: an expensive college degree; a string of low-paying (and no-paying) jobs, including coat-check girl, cashier at a sandwich shop and intern at a production company, the drudgery of which was punctuated by a series of degrading pseudo-romantic encounters; and the lease on an overpriced, undersize apartment in the East Village stuffed with a rotating cast of Craigslist roommates, which she eventually gave up to move back in with her parents,” says the New York Times. She’s living the Girls-inspired dream.
In my opinion, she's one of the few bloggers on the interwebs able to depict 20-something issues in a accessible but not cliché or cringe-inducing way. Don’t get me wrong, her drawings are emotional — at times hysterical, even — but they're also short, sweet, and anonymous; Koenig never really talks about her personal life, which is so very unlike the rest of our “me-centered” generation.
Check out “F*CK! I’m in My Twenties” here and be prepared to alternately laugh and cry. I know I did!
