I don’t think that when T.Swift wrote, “One day they’ll tell the story of us,” she meant it quite like this. We’ve already debated the role of Facebook and other social media in your relationship, but according to the LA Times, eHarmony is developing an app that will allow you and your guy to tell your love story in all its complete, over-sharing detail online.

The app will pull information from each user’s separate account, like shared check-ins, and photos where both you and your guy are tagged, to create a timeline of a romance from start to present day. You can control the information before it’s public by vetoing posts you find irrelevant (or more likely, photos you think are unflattering) and add events that are important.

Side note: The LA Times presents this as an alternative to joint Facebook accounts, but … is that a real thing people do? I’ve never seen that and frankly, I don’t think I’d approve. You may be in love, but you're not one person!

Anyway, I can see having fun looking back through the memories of your relationship--but it’s also the kind of thing I don’t necessarily think needs to be public. I'm all for celebrating love, but nobody really cares as much about your relationship as you do. I love talking to my friends about their boyfriends and husbands, but I don’t need to spend hours flipping through their photo albums, you know? Also, I see a lot of potential for embarrassment and heartbreak when relationships end, but that’s probably just my cynical side talking.

You can add the Story of Us app here.

What do you think, is the "Story of Us" on Facebook a Do or a Don't? Do you think your guy would go for it? Would you ever want to look at other people's love stories, or is it just overshare?
