If you’re friend tends to clam up when nervous then help guide the conversation along. Mention some of the fun adventures you two have been on. Don’t talk about yourself, specifically, make sure you bring up topics that everyone can relate to.

While you might have a funny story about the spring break trip you two took senior year, you should let her tell it. You’re not helping your friend impress that guy if she can’t get a word in edgewise.

Speaking of funny spring break stories, it might be best not to share anything too personal. Don’t embarrass your friend by divulging something she’d rather forget, and that might turn her potential suitor off.

Don’t Be Overprotective
