Freaking out over that hot date this weekend?! Don't sweat it, girl!  Before you lose your cool, remember he’s just as nervous as you. Read our tips to ease those first date nerves and enjoy yourself!

Make a List
Part of making a great first impression is exuding confidence, which might be difficult if you’re really nervous. So, go ahead and make a list of all the reasons you’re awesome and why he will absolutely love you. You don’t have to write them down, just repeat them to yourself. Make them yourmantra while primping. By the time your date arrives you should be convinced just how amazing you are, and be able to let your personality shine through.

Break a Sweat

Make sure you schedule a work out the day of the big date. You’ll get a positive boost from endorphins, release the tension in your muscles, and feel more confident about your appearance. That’s what we call a win-win, right?! If you don’t have time to hit the gym, then play some feel-good music and bust a move while getting ready. You’ll still be working off those nerves, and the upbeat tunes should remind you the point of the date: to have fun.

Plan Ahead
I love primping and going all out for dates, or basically anything that allows me to dress up a little. If it takes you an hour to achieve those perfect first-date curls, make sure to give yourself adequate time. Also, try to narrow down your outfit choices the night before. If you’re rushing around the 20 minutes before your date you’ll appear and feel frazzled. And you definitely do not want to be late for a first date. Even if you’re worth it, it’s completely rude to leave your new guy waiting for you.

Call a Friend
Call a friend, or invite them over to hang out before the date. Your buddy is there to boost your confidence even more. They must offer the standard pre-date pep talk by reminding you just how hot you are and “If he’s not into you, it’s his loss.” In addition, your pal can be the distraction to take your mind off things. Let them gripe about their crazy boss to distract you from your own worries.

Break Ice
Yes, go ahead and break some ice in a glass and pour in your favorite adult beverage. Having just one drink is perfectly fine pre-date, just make sure you don’t show up smelling like a bar or stumbling.

While you’re enjoying that drink, come up with some cheesy icebreakers. They might seem silly at first, but he’ll definitely appreciate your willingness to help conversation flow. Think of at least three humorous questions you can ask before a silence gets awkward.

Just Breathe
The tried and true technique to calm anyone. Taking a few deep breathes just before the date tricks your body into calming down. Try it right now and you’ll instantly feel better.

Make Post-date Plans
Making plans for immediately after the date will set a time cap. If you’re running out of things to say, or feel awkward closing the night, having set plans is the perfect excuse to end the date. Even if you want the night to continue, follow through with your set plans, it will just give you more to look forward to next date.
