I’d like to share a very special recipe with you all. You may or may not have heard of Scotcheroos before, but my Aunt Carla always makes them for holidays and basically any family gathering. Anything that combines peanut butter and chocolate is addictive as crack in my opinion. With just 6 ingredients, it’s likely you already have all the fixings in your pantry already. So, go ahead, make them already, just make sure you invite some friends over before you devour the entire pan yourself.

Scotcheroos

Ingredients
1 cup sugar

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup corn syrup

6 cups Special K cereal

1 ( 6 oz. ) bag chocolate chips

1 ( 6 oz. ) bag butterscotch chips

Directions
In large saucepan, combine sugar and corn syrup. Heat to dissolve sugar and bring to boil; remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter. Add Special K and mix until well blended. Press into buttered 9X13 inch pan. In small saucepan, melt together chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Spread combined mixture over top of Special K mixture.

Cool. Cut into 36 bars. Now try not to eat all of it yourself.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with the recipe, too. I’ve always added a drizzle of white chocolate over the top for a little color, and once made a batch using half Nutella instead of peanut butter. It was so good I’m afraid to make it again.
