Because of course we needed these! Do you want a super expensive way to surrender to your hipster side? Get in line for these Insta-branded glasses that make everyday real life “Lo-fi.”

Here's how the glasses would work: A built-in 5-megapixel camera would constantly be taking video of everything you see while wearing them. Moments later, those images would be run through a processor that would apply your favorite Instagram filter to the world, and show you the results on the built-in lenses. And, if there's a moment you want to capture forever, you can just press a button on the glasses to automatically upload a snapshot of what you're looking at to Instagram. It’s a pretty neat use for augmented-reality glasses, a new trend in the tech world. After all, on a less frivolous level, certain filters could make it easier for vision-impared users to see the world.
Now, before you get too excited, these glasses are just a concept for now — you can't just run off to Amazon.com and order yourself a pair yet. And given the kind of delay between the camera taking the picture and the glasses displaying it for you, well, these glasses would be virtually unusable if you planned to walk and not be disoriented at the same time.
Our verdict: OMG. It’s a pretty cool idea, but I’m not sure we need to see the world through Nashville-tinted glasses. It would be so hard to walk, yes? I think we’ll stick to the normal Instagram (and brush up on our skills with these tips) and some fun sunnies.
What do you think? Would you get these glasses to play around with? And the most important question of all, which filter would you pick?!?
