Attending a girls night out is always a blast, but splurging on those fancy drinks and shots will empty your bank account and leave you with a terrible hangover the next day, too. So, plan a girls night in this weekend. You’ll still have a blast, I promise, plus you’ll actually feel refreshed the next day. Here are 6 ideas for your best girls night in yet.
A Movie Marathon
Hanging out with your girls is the best time to indulge in movies that your man just doesn’t appreciate. Whether you’re into sappy stuff, romantic comedies, or even musicals, girls night is the perfect excuse to bust out your favorite films. Here’s a few of our favorites:
- The Notebook
- Love, Actually
- Dirty Dancing
- Bridesmaids
- My Best Friend’s Wedding
Beauty Product Testing
You can’t call it a girls night without some pampering. Stock up on free samples or trial sizes of new products, like face masks and makeup. E.L.F. products are an inexpensive way to test out a new beauty trend to get your friends’ opinions in an unintimidating environment.
Put Those Pins to Use

Are you obsessively pinning crazy manicures or at-home DIY beauty treatments? I find it nearly impossible to paint the fingers on my left hand, let alone do any fun designs. So, find your favorite, crazy nail art on Pinterest and take turns with a pal to paint each other nails.
Swap and Shop
I’m constantly purging my closet to rid of all the items I never wear. I’m even guilty of purchasing sale items that end up hanging in my closet, never to be worn. Usually I send them off to a younger cousin to wear, but consider having all your friends bring their used, but in good condition clothes they never wear. Everyone can swap with each other and any extra items can be sent off to Goodwill. You’ll leave with some “new” clothes without making a real purchase.
Sweet Treats

Because no one is going to appreciate the effort of Cake Pops like your girlfriends. Hosting a girls night in is a great excuse to indulge in a few not-so healthy snacks. Prepare some gourmet popcorn for the movie marathon and keep a few figure-friendly yet tasty treats around, too.
Play Games
Bust out some classic board games from your childhood. Monopoly will work, but for a real blast from the past try playing slumber party classics such as, Girl Talk, Dream Phone, and Mall Madness. There are newer versions of all these games, but we know the classic is always better, so dig around your parent’s attic to find yours.
