When Pinterest addiction goes too far...

You ladies know how much I love Pinterest. I'm pretty much on it all day, everyday. So I had to love this dark-humor spin on my fave site. Dubbed "Pinsanity," the video pokes fun at the cupcake-laden site, by portraying the user audience as high income, style-obsessed divas who love to pin, shop and bake. The video also mocks the jealousy fueled by the site's "like" and "repin" buttons which, in this case, cause a jogger to have her bra stolen mid-run.

Five-time Grammy Award winner Donna Summer, who first hustled into our hearts in the 1970s, died yesterday morning. She was 63. Having released 17 studio albums between 1974 and 2008, it seems fitting that we honor the Queen of Disco’s legacy by lacing up our dancing shoes tonight.

I can’t get this song out of my head! I first heard it in a Microsoft commercial of all places, but since then I have been obsessed with it and googling the song constantly until now it’s finally being played on the radio. Alex Clare is a newcomer to the states (not sure if he’s big in the UK where he’s from) and I think his tunes are great.

Moms aren’t the only ones with great advice! It seems grandparents know what’s up too. A Florida couple, Selma and Kenny, couldn’t make their grandson’s wedding in California, so they decided to send them a video toast and share their wisdom over webcam.

So I finally succumbed to pop culture peer pressure and picked up 50 Shades of Grey and my local Barnes and Noble (hey, I had just finished my book and used their free wi-fi. It was meant to be.) I started reading over the weekend and was sent this video by one of my friends who also started it this weekend. I think I watched it about 10 times in a row!

Am I the only one that consistently tears up at Google commericals? I just can't be! The one where the dad writes his daughter emails just kills me. And the one they did showing the couple's relationship from the beginning? Love. They really are like short feel-good movies, rather than ads. Well, they're back with this adorable mini-love story.

I’ll admit it: As much as I love Zooey D’s quirkiness on New Girl, I am kinda obsessed with her fabulously metro roommate Schmidt. He’s just too much. Who else walks through a crappy part of town barefoot because you can cure tetanus, but not damaged suede?!?

What woman doesn’t love Dove’s Real Beauty ad campaigns? Real women who have real bodies that look like the real women we see around us everyday. It’s still so refreshing, even though we’ve seen it for almost 10 years. And they’ve come out with another pro-body image winner.

I know we feature many articles on how to lose weight and what the new workout trends are and things like that, but we here at Girls Guide To simply want you to be the best and healthiest version of you. We’re not into the scary “thinspo” trend (though we do like “fitspo”) and we think each and every one of you is beautiful, should be proud to be who you are, and should only change if you want to and are ready to do so.
