What is a good way to get rid of water weight? I've been feeling kind of bloated for a few days, I know it's not my period and I'm not pregnant. What's a good product or home remedy to get rid of water weight, or at least make me feel less bloated.

Look at your sodium intake. many foods have much more then you would believe. read the lables and lay off the salt to prevent future retention. in the meantime, drug stores are full of herbal remodies for water weight. i recommend natural over chemical everytime. I use cvs' Brand herbal water pill.

drink tea and try to eat vegetables and yoghurt^^

I know that I tend to get really bloated whenever I consume a lot of salty types of foods and drink alcohol. I always drink hot tea and drink water to flush it out

I use to have a really puffy or bloated stomach, and it turned out that I had something wrong with my stomach and the food wasn't going where it was supposed to and my stomach wasn't contracting how it was suppose to. So, now I take medication, and now my stomach has been getting flatter and smaller.

Good question! and what food/drink should we be avoiding so it doesnt happen? i know salty foods and alcohol dont help... anything else?

Activia - Tastes Lovely & Helps Bloating :) x

milk and milk products (except yoghurt to a degree) generally cause a bloated feeling
at least it does with me anyway
( dont quote me, im biased and lactose/ dairy intolerant ) :p

If you are retaining water, it could mean you are not drinking enough. I used to carry alot of water weight until I started drinking at least 3 litres of a day. Also, sodium retains water so, for about a week keep a food log, focusing on the calorie and sodium intake of the foods you eat, then after the week, revise and see what you can cut out or substitute. Good luck, water weight sucks.

Drink water and exercise. I did that and in about 2 weeks I lost a lot of water weight and lost about an inch around my waist. Do watch what you eat (for sodium). Don't go out to eat much because there is generally lots of sodium in those types of food. And Sorry Kayla, don't worry about logging calories. It is extremely hard to track how many calories you take in during a day and how many you expel (do keep a food log though) I hope these things work for you!

At least three bottles of water a day and a Bikram Yoga class. That'll fix you up right quick. You wouldn't believe the wonders WATER does for your body when you're drinking it AND sweating it out.

More water actually flushes out and takes sodium with it, exercise... you don't have to kill yourself doing it, but sweating helps get rid of sodium. Also, carbohydrates carry sodium. Also, I've heard potassium helps, so eat like a banana or something. You don't want to get rid of all sodium, you need it, but if you cut it out entirely and you start feeling really sick, eat/drink something salty quickly even if it means drinking pickle juice! You can easily get salt in your system from eating a tuna sandwich or some chips or eating soup or something. But yeah, just think lots of water and exercise!

Whenever I feel bloated, period or not, I take Pamprin which has a diuretic in it and that helps get rid of the excess water weight. :)
