I'm going to visit my number one college over break, but I'm not sure if I should bring anything with me or not. I scheduled an appointment, so it's most likely just going to be my mom and me, along with a guide that gives us a tour around campus. I've never visited a college before, so I'm not really sure what to expect... should I bring anything with me? Also, how should I dress (it's a public college)?

Thanks!!

When you get there, if you want to any extra curriculars make sure you talk to the coaches or advisors about them. just dress normally, in jeans and a tee shirt or whatver fashion string you tend towards. Everybody is always really nice, usually they are group tours so tal to the other families in your tour and ask any questions, all the tour guides are there to answer your questions and concerns. And RELAX, find a college that you really fit in and you feel comfortable with, if you don't feel like you get along with the peopl in your group or the tour guide, it may not be the college for you

I would dress causally professional, like a collared shirt with jeans. Try making a list of questions you have before you go like class size, core requirements, the health center, meal plans, etc.. Just bring a notepad and a pen.. not like a binder; pocket size.

Hey there, I'm actually a tour guide at my college so hopefully I can be very helpful with this.
First off, the number one thing you should bring is lots of questions! Any good tour guide likes being asked lots of stuff about the school and they'll be able to give you all the behind-the-scenes info that the faculty and staff wouldn't normally go into. Also, it's a good idea to bring a camera with you; it helps to snap pictures of cool places on campus that you can look at later. And, as someone posted above, it's good to bring a small notebook and pencil with you, but they usually give you plenty of paper in the way of informational packets so it's not totally necessary.

Since it's a public college, you can pretty much dress in whatever you normally wear. Pretty much with any college you can wear whatever you feel like.
