Over the holidays I met a guy in New York. I live in Oregon but we've continued to talk, text, and email. He came to visit me in February and we decided to try this long distance thing. I feel crazy for thinking it could work but there is something about him that I've never had with anyone else. Have any of you ever been in a long distance relationship? If so, are there any secrets to making it work?

l am in a long distance relationship,l am a 3 and a half flight away from him,and l miss him more every day,we send each other surprises,call each other,text each other,we go out of our way to keep the emotions going between each other,and we go on msn every night,if he is worth it,u keep it going at all costs

I'm a 2 hour flight away from my man, and often it feels like hell, but it's worth it at the same time.
talk lots, build up a lot of trust, (you'll need it). prepare to be jealous, and deal with his insecurities (we all have them), and your own.
in some ways i feel closer to my boy because i dont see him, it changes the way we communicate, which has made us very close, and, i think, stronger together.
visit as much as you can, but be aware that each of you has your seperate needs and requirements....
it's not easy, but can be worth it.....

It's hard, I won't lie, but if you love him or feel that connection it's worth it. I've been in a long distance relationship for more then a year and a half, and it's hard, we miss each other everyday. Key, is to talk everyday, and TRUST.
I just got out of a long distance relationship- and its extremely hard to pursue. You need to be both dedicated on conversing daily...Web cam is good, and also a in person visit every 2 months is a must.
I for one tried it with a guy just recently...We had dated in highschool...We broke up over some complexing circumstances...And we got back together 5 years later after his big move across the country...I was really happy- he gave me my first kiss...He was very passionate about us...But Just three weeks into our relationship- I found out he was cheating on me...cuz he couldn't take the distance...or the commitment to one girl.
So..we broke up. I honestly won't be doing a long distance thing...because of my trust issues now...BUT make sure...you trust him...and make sure you communicate.
trust is a major factor in a long distance relationship :) but it really is possible. all the best sweetheart. <3
