Last year I had really bad acne and even though it's much better now I still have red scars all over my face. Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of them?
I know things like Bio Oil are good for scars but does anyone know of any less oily options
I hear anything with Aloe Vera does wonders.
yes I agree, Aloe Vera works!
How does that work? Aloe vera in its plant form to be eaten or to be applied on the face??
I have this Aloe Vera gel thing that cares for burns and the skin and moisturises too. I'm trying it out on some scars after reading this post. I'm sure they wouldn't be hard to find. :)
the way I used to do it is since my mom has aloe vera in the yard, I would cut a piece off and then slice it in half. then i would rub one of the halves all over my face & neck. do it every other day and you'll see results! just be careful though with your clothes because that gooey stuff stains.
if this seems too weird, try proactiv, it's a little easier if you're on the go all the time, that way you can carry the 3 bottles around. hope this helps :)
Microdermabrasion (sp) is supposed to be good for acne scars, as it helps stimulate the skin cells. I haven't really tried it, mostly because I've heard it's kinda pricy, but they make some "at home" stuff you can use. I have one, just haven't used it. Lol. Otherwise, I would say to keep your face moisturized I guess.
I gave the same problem...Ive been using moisturiser. Its meant to help smooth out the skin and add moisture back into it. Use it after washing your face and it should start to help. It'll take a bit of time... but it will start to work soon enough.
neosporan scar patches might work
theres this stuff called NS 8 and its suposed to be really good on scars, stretch marks and all that... im not totaly sure if iot works but i have been told that it really does.
u shud try rubbing cucumber slices on ure face......dat really helpz...

I'm trying aloe vera gel, hope it works!

Have you tried seeing a dermatologist? I use Proactiv but not for scaring so sadly I do not have any great suggestions for you. Any acne scars I've ever had simply faded over time. But I do use lots of moisturizer and sun screen every single day.
i have tried pro active but im alergic to one of the chemicals so i got a beautiful red rash all over my face lol
my savior was this brand called lalisse. i dont know if it avalible in USA as it is made in australia but it definatly works!
and i havent seen a dermatologist because im still at school and i dont really have the money :(
i have read that rubbing a tomato slice on your face helps with scarring
You should use a product that has either Beta Hydroxy in it or glycolic acid. I am currently using studio gears beta hydroxy exfoliating pads and its really helping with the scaring on my face. Basically its just peeling away the dead surface skin cells and by doing that ur scaring will eventually peel away :). If you do get a product with glycolic acid in it make sure its a low percentage or it will really dry out your face.
Use Freederms new range, It has actually amazing results!
There are these two products made by Mary Kay. My mom sells the stuff.. and I've used it plenty of times. I had some scaring from those lovely teenage years. The 3 in 1 cleanser..and the age defying serum that goes along with it are wonders. I love that stuff. I hardly wear any coverup foundation at all. Just under the eyes to match up the skin tone.
Cocoa butter is great on marks too. :) and its cheap.
i would suggest trying retin-a cream, like neutrogena healthy skin spf 15. it really does affect the cell turnover, and does help fade/heal spots. use if after cleanser 2 or even more times a day
