What is the best treatment/product found in stores, that is good for fading redness and reducing acne scars on your face? My skin is extra sensitive, and right now all I've been using is Lye soap, because nothing seems to actually work.

I have not been able to find any one product that works to keep my skin clear. I tend to switch products when I run out of one. However, my face does not break out unless I am stressed or on my period. I tend to use Clean & Clear, neutrogena, Olay, biore and a consecrated Cetaphil for spots. if that helps lol ....

The only product I have been able to find is Proactive, and I have sensitive skin, but this is a harsher product. I dont use the toner every day and I usually use my own moisturizer (Clinique). But what I have also done is I recently switched birth controls to one that is more geared towards helping treat acne. All I did was go to my dr and ask if she recommended any specific one that would help clear up my skin.

I've used Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion and it's really good. And for swelling and redness, I usually just put some ice in a plastic baggie, wrap it in a paper towel and ice the area. It doesn't work all the time but it helps.

the one thing that works for me is the St. Ives Apricot scrub. they do have a sensitive skin formula, which barely has any gritty bits, and the ones it does have are very fine, so i don't know if that'll be a problem for you or not. and depending on where you get it, you can get it for pretty cheap.

I would definately NOT recommend Proactive. I got it and it was a HUGE dissapointment. Not only did it not help me at all, but when I tried to return it for their "money back guarantee" they refused to give me my money back. The only thing that I've found to be somewhat helpful is actually from Avon... I got them 3 for $10 cuz I figured "what the heck". There are 3 that I switch between every night- the Blackhead Clearing Cleanser (microbeads in it), Immediate Response Acne Cleanser and the Invigorating Cleasing Scrub. For sensitive skin the scrub would probably be too much. Make sure to use some lotion after washing your face. I hope this helps!

um, lye soap is NOT GOOD. You can melt the flesh off a dead body with lye soap.... that might be your sensitivity problem...

I've always heard tomato facials worked though I've never tried on myself.

Hi, I am in the exact same boat!!
I too have very sensitive skin, Proactive was WAAAAAY too harsh.

However there is an answer! SIMPLE, it's a product made in the UK.
There are no additives/ perfumes/ etc that clog our skin, and it has helped the redness of my skin, as well as not being too harsh. They do a full range from Toner, Moisturiser as well as face wipes (good for on the go) and are also good for "young" skin (20's or so) all the way through to specially formed formulations for "aged" skin (50+).
It is reasonably priced, and trust me. It has worked for me, I won't be using other brands any more.

I would also suggest looking at what other products you are using (make-up's, etc) as these can also cause skin issues.
Also a visit to the Dermatologist can help if the redness/ acne scarring is bad.
(or if you are feeling really bad about it, and need some honest and professional skin-care help.)

Clearisil clean and clear gel or lotion cleanser with salycitic acid. I'm not sure if I spelled it right. I got if for my daughter who was having problems and myself. I used prescription ionax for years and then the company stopped production. It had the salycitic acid and controlled my acne. The clearisil clean and clear has made it so I don't have breakouts major and I just astringe every now and then to deep clean. Oh yeah and my daughters teen acne is under control now.

bio oil works really well.
cvs, walgreens, and grocery stores carry it.
it's a little pricey, but it works!
just wash your face at night and put it on before you sleep
