I'm tired of using products that have tons of harsh chemicals especially when it comes to facial cleansers and face scrubs. Are there any good homemade remedies for healthy skin that actually work?

I just tried this earlier, so i'm still iffy on it. Buy non-coated asprin from any drug store. Take out one tablet from the container or box and set it on a plate or small bowl. Soak the pill in about a Tbsp of water wait for the tablet to disinagrate. Add some honey or aloe lotion (sunburn solution) the amount is variable to face size. Use your fingers (be sure thier clean) and rub the solution on your face. Again your circular motions, this may be used for as long as you want. The solution will be gritty, and makes for a great exfoliater, only use every few days (Ex. mon wed fri) . If you can find powdered asprin do the same but only use a tsp of water and may be used everyday. If dryness occures extend the periods between uses and apply a non-oil based lotion.
If you have an electric toothbrush your not using this is great!! Soap and water works with it too, as long as the soap doesnt dry your face out. If so just make sure to use a lotion after. First wet your face and take off any makeup you could be wearing. Then wet you face and then apply the cleanser of your choice ( i prefer Noxema black head cleanser) turn the toothbrush on, but when you use it on your face be sure to use circluar motions. Get were ever you feel your face may need it most more so then the rest of your face. Do this once a day, i do this in the shower mostly. The steam opens up your pores and the vibrations and the bristles just pulls the dirt out and away from your skin. I saw results immediately!!!
I am a mark. sales rep and find myself having the same problems when it comes to face products. I understand how you feel about the harsh chemicals that leave your face burning and peeling. Besides, who wants to walk around looking very red? I don't know any home-made remedies but I do use mark. face products that are made with fruit and foods which is so good for the skin. Their products are oil and fragrance free and tested for various allergies. I recommend calming effect comforting milk cleanser and for a scrub try berry grand. They are really cheap you can find them at my ebotique mymarkstore.com/nmurray
i know that honey, milk and olive oil are all supposed to be good for your skin. and here is a face scrub recipe...
8 whole unblanched almonds, 2 tablespoons rolled oats - chuck in a blender
mix with 1 tablespoon honey and 2 teaspoons yogurt apply to face rub in circular motions and leave for 10 mins, then was off.
I use an egg yolk as a mask for tightening and it shrinks my pores well! My old roommate used virgin olive oil to clean her face, and it got all her makeup off really well. She had super-sensitive skin, and it never bothered her at all.
Cetaphil facial cleanser is what my dermatologist reccomends. I'm allergic to everything and it's the only thing I use. It's oil free so it doesn't cause breakouts and it dramatically regulates your skin if you use it over time. It's also very hydrating. Basically perfect. And it only costs about eight dollars in drug stores. :-)
Cetaphil cetaphil cetaphil! Its super cheap and works. Also Netrugina deep clean cleanser works really well but you can't get it in your eyes. I have sensitive skin too but it didn't make me break out.
Olive oil is really good for eye makeup removal; I just use a bit of tissue paper, dip it in olive oil and wipe around your eyes till the makeup is gone. It's really good and olive oil won't hurt your eyes or skin
Apple cider vinegar does wonders for hair and skin. Add baking soda to it and it cleans really well and scrubs. When mixing add small amounts at a time or you'll get the elementary school volcano project :D
Me, personally, my skin has always been mean to me. Especially when I'm hit with allergies (I'm allergic to cats) because I stay at my friends house. I usually break out horribly. What do I use?
Walgreen's brand, Skin Treatment Oil.
Not only does it clear blemishes but it also helps stretch marks, aging skin, scars, dehydrated skin and uneven skin tones. It's inexpensive and it works.
i always had to buy new products for my skin. almost everyone i bought worked in the beginning, but my skin got used to it and then breakouts started appearing. but i use the egg whites and yolk facial. you can go on youtube and go to michellephan's channel and there's a vid w/ her holding an egg & its calld egg facial
anything GIOVANI . they have all natural hair prodects like shampoo and they just came out with a face care line. they're all natural and FANTASTIC .. also theres a face soap called simply clean.. its great try it out. has some chemical but its just a face cleanser nothing else and it works well!
I know this is aaages since you posted, but I use Arbonne products, you'd have to find a person who sells it in your area, but they are completely natural, they have never tested on animals (even before the laws came in) and they use totally natural products, they use fruits such as kiwis, mango and lemon in their products and they have been tested on people with really bad reactions to everyting ( i am even allergic to "Simple" products- i come out ina rash and Arbonne haven't made me react at all) check out the website, if you're interested: www.arbonnett.com
they have really good stuff from make up, moisturisers, baby products and anti aging products.
If you have zits, you could always try Burt's Bees Targeted Spot Treatment. It comes in this little bottle (I must admit, the bottle needs some work) and smells like natural and medicine all in one. That isn't to pleasant, but worth it. You just take a little drop and rub it into your blemish. Once in the morning and once at night, both times after you've washed your face. It's pretty inexpensive and works really well, plus it's natural.
For the washing your face part, they have face washes too. I haven't tried any, but have heard they can work for some people. I use Sensaria facewash for men (I'm a girl) and but it smells pretty good and gets my make up off. Then I use a warming wash from Clean and Clean, and then the Deep Clean from Nutrogena. After those three I put on the Burt's, and my skin has improved greatly since I started with the spot treatment. And if you've tried the washes I use, you could try the Burt's Bees face washes and see how they work. I think most of them are under $10 except for one.
queen helene has natural face washes/ scrubs, no harsh chemicals, also you could use naturalists they have an entire line, washes, toner, lotion, scrubs that are all natural, and gigi organics also is a wonderful line!
I'm taking Differin and Clindagel for my acne, and my dermatologist recently strengthened my prescription of Differin to try to get rid of the rest of my acne, and the old prescription was already harsh as it is. And the dry winter was just the icing on the cake, my skin literally started to peel off in these ugly chunks. He told me to use Cetaphil as a light moisturizer for my face, but that made my skin burn, and VASELINE made my skin burn too! I recently got Johnson and Johnson's Purpose, which is pretty mild and gentle. It says somewhere on the bottle that it's supposed to be as mild as water. I haven't had any irritation from it yet, but I can't exactly say how well it works for acne because I'm already on something and I'm just using this to keep the oil at bay.

I don't know where you live, but if you've ever heard of a shop called "Lush" everything in there is natural and hand made.
Well I don't have any all-naturel-home-made ones but I use Clean&Chear's acne foaming clenser and them bodyShop body butter. it works for me.
