Well I just found out about the Diva Cup on the internet. I'd never heard of it before so I read up about it (it's a menstruation cup) ... and it sounds pretty convenient! [I've added a link for anyone who's interested]
Anyway I'm just a bit confused at why it's not more well known. But I'm slightly confused as to why its not better known. It might just be because its not popular in the UK but I would like to know whether anyone uses it and what they think about it, also how famous it is where you live.
(This is the website: www.divacup.com)

I personally use this and it's awesome! My periods have ogtten so much light and less cramps.
i'd like to hear more about this too! i just found it online also and am very interested!
this is not a good idea. douching has been linked to fallopian tube infections, problems conceiving, cervical cancer and vaginal infections. tampons work just as well, also if you wanna use it cause your period is too heavy or you get a lot of cramps then you should go on birth control
Diva cup =/= douching.
i got something thats probably the same thing. its brilliant, one of the best things ive ever bought! it gives so much more freedom........and its loads more comfortable! i really dont know why its not more commonly used. i bought my from an australian site called "lunnette" and there is a US/UK one called "mooncup" too.......... and you can buy them from boots chemists and stuff over there.
the mooncup site has a lot of info on it, really explains things.
but really, i reckon every woman should at least try this, its unbelievably brilliant!
(oh, as a note, im 17, dunno if that makes a difference to anyone at all....... but i guess its a little more radical)
To me it sound disgusting... I personally would rather it come out bit by bit than sit inside me for days...
well its not day's' technically its only up to 12 hours, but everyone is entitled to what they do or do not like. I personally have heard great things about it and would love to try it if i could find where they are sold. Also i don't believe douching is similar in any way, unless you are not cleaning it properly after each use or inserting it improperly, then of course there are going to be problems. as far as i can see they are no more dangerous or less sanitary than tampons
Is this similar to the Instead cup? I recently found that in a pharmacy, and tried it once, for like 5 minutes... I liked the idea of it, but I felt weird actually using it.
I know you're not supposed to wear tampons for longer than 8 hours because of the risk of getting TSS...how is this any different?
Tampons "suck" the blood and cups don't. There hasn't been any cases reported that a menstrual cup would have caused TSS. Anyhow, I have personal experience and I think cups are great. But it's a personal choise. Some girls don't like to use tampons because they feel it's disgusting to be so much in touch with their menstrual fluids, and you need to be even more familiar and comfortable with your anatomy to be able to use a cup. And it does take practice. But for me it has reduced cramps and it makes my period a whole lot easier.
