This year my New Years Resolution is to get fit, healthy and over all to lose weight. I'm really uncomfortable with my body right now and I can't bring myself to go work out at a gym. What I want to know is any work outs that I could do at home? When Spring rolls around I intend on running, since its winter right now I just don't know what to do. Please help =)

Well, you could try doing sit ups and crunches at home? Hahha, you can go on a fruit and veg diet, which is healthy and actually helps so...
We're in the same boat here, except that around here we don't have Winter so I don't have an excuse. :/
you could get videos from the library, like tae bo and stuff. it's pretty cool.
Or you could do Carmen Electra's stuff, and build self-confidence at the same time :)
Doing the stuff in her videos will make you feel silly the first few times, but you'll feel sooo sexy later on, and have an amazing body if you stick with it!
I agree with the above poster. I do the Carmen Electra DVDs and they help me ALOT. I usually do one of her routines, and then some floorwork. The BEST thing you can do is to do different cardio routines and then different floorwork everyday. Like do one stripping routine and then do her fit to strip floorwork with the extra leg exercises one day, and the next, do the cardio on the Fit to Strip DVD and the extra Abs workout. This way, you're always changing it up and your muscles don't get too used to what you're doing. I also do Winsor Pilates and interchange those abs/leg workouts with the Fit to Strip ones to change it up.
My current workout schedule is:
Monday Wednesday Friday - Cardio, Floorwork, Extra Abs.
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday - Cardio, Floorwork, Extra Legs
Sundays are a day of rest. You don't want to overwork your muscles. Start off by working out twice a week, and then increase in two weeks or whenever you feel ready.
The Carmen Electra cardio and floorwork usually take me about 45 mins a day, and then I do even more extra crunches or legwork before bed.
Happy Exercising!

I usually go to roxy.com and do some of there workout videos. they work really well!
i am doing the same but what i am doing is Sundays i do sit ups ( all different types) then Mondays i do push ups and jumping jacks and the Tuesdays i do yoga to relax. and i just keep going with the pattern. also eat lots of fruits and vegetables and if you want to gain muscle eat peanut butter and then work out. don't drink soda and don't eat too much sweets and junk food. drink many vegetable juices or all natural juices. it will give you energy and it will help while exercising.
any protein will help muscle gain so that includes meats, eggs, lentils, nuts, milk, youghurt ect and its actually recomended that you eat it after you work out because eating it before hand can make you feel sick as it takes so long to digest and throughout your workout most of the blood is directed to the muscles and away from the stomach and because an muscle gain is actually done by the body following the workout
and as for the juices whist they are better than soda they still arent good for you as such and your much better off eating the actual fruni of vegetable. this is because the juices often have a higher sugar content per serve and dont have the fibre you would be getting from the fruit or vegetable itself
crunches shorten abs so DONT do those. Planks lengthen abs and pull the muscles inward instead of out. Pushups are great for your arms and lunges for legs. For cardio put on your iPod and dance around the room, its crazy fun.
whlie the actual movment of the crunch involves shortening the muscle fibres the muscles themself wont shorten as long as you strech afterwards. and your abs wont even start to develop outwards until your doing crazy amounts of ab work
well i can't get myself to work out at home so i go to the gym hehe umm but i agree with previous comments. there's a lot of workout videos you could try but i would say work out every day and if you're sore don't skip workout days because then you'd be starting all over again and end up giving up. when i started working out i couldn't even lift my feet because my muscles were so sore, but this lasts at the most 3 days so keep it up and you will be on your way. oh! and decide right now a time and days you will be working out, otherwise you will end up doing something else. no excuses! hehe
dance even if you don't know how too. dancing works every part of your body so it will help in so many ways.
There are a lots of options. Try putting on your sneakers and talking a walk, quick pace, around your local shopping mall or outlet center. You can try the wii fit, it is fun and you can push yourself more then you might be able to if you were trying on your own. Dancing is always fun at home, put on some loud music and enjoy it! Jumping jacks, jumping rope, taking your pet for a walk or walking with a friend at the park even this time of year can be very enjoyable. There are also many online videos that can keep it interesting!
Once you do become interested in a gym try finding one that has a variety of classes, they keep working out interesting and they push you more then you would normally push yourself!
Good luck with your resolution, you will feel better each day and will be glad you made the change. Remember to keep eating healthy and drinking your fluids!
Hey Girls!
Thank you all so much for your help and suggestions!! I must admit that I have been to a hot yoga class at like 100 degrees! I must say I thought I was going to die but I'm going to stick with it haha. I have also been taking a dance class! Thank you all again so much!! =)
try walk away the pounds. i lost numerous pounds instantly
If you have the money, buy a Wii Fit and some fitness DVDs, but if you don't, search online for exercises to do, there are tons!
If you dance AND sing the song that you're dancing to at the same time, it doubles the calories you burn. Just try it. It's hard. Good luck!
for cardio walk, run, ride a bike or do step ups
for toneing you can do squats, lunges, push ups, tricep dips, crunches, hovers and leg extentions all without weights and if you get a weight set you can add chest press, bicep curls, shoulder press, upright rows tricep extentions and many many more
but i would really recomend joining a gym. i work at one and we always have people who havnt exercsed in years, just had a baby or are obease comming in to join, its much easyer to stay motivated through your workout and get the most out of it at a gym rather than at home
and if your not comfortable go with a friend, try a group fittness class aswell, theres alot of people who do them because there new to exercise and there great cos someone else tells you what to do and how to do it so you dont hurt yourself :D hope this all helps
