Does anyone else feel like they are re-inventing their style now?! Just like you, I've graduated college and am now a hard working fabulous girl but I feel like I am all over the place when I shop! We're at the point when we still meet up with our friends on weekend nights but we go to work the next day, or we network on the week nights or spend time by ourselves catching up on what life brings us (Not to mention, metabolisms seem to come to a screeching halt at 21). You don't want to look 'immature' and you don't want to look TOO boring/conservative! Sure you can have some killer cute work outfits and some sassy dance-the-night-away dresses, but lets face it- life jumbles our closets into a big pile on the floor. Lets get some classic tips out there on how to make our 20 years superbly 'sophisexy'!

My style is definitely changing... but that's only because I can't afford to do those shopping trips anymore haha... I keep it simple and when I do make purchases, I make sure that they are pieces that can be worn in different ways with different outfits. That allows me to switch it up, save money, and move towards an older, yet still fresh style.
"Sophisexy!" I love it!!
i don`t really feel comf. with my stile...but i have like 100000 closes..... :( i for ex. bye a dress or a pullover but haven`t got anny thing that`s fits it, and so i never get the change to use it :*(
Agree
Dare I say this? ok, I will let it all hangout for my gal pals! ha ha! I actually pick a store like fashion bug and buy the cutest outfits I can find, and then mix it up with some very basic Walmart specials, I have been doing this since I was a kid, and I have always been complemented on my fashion! In my 30's I discovered Burlington Coat factory, and Torrid. Now, I am having fun with those stores. Shopping in just one store? oh ughhhh! never! Once in a blue moon I may even check out a thrift store, and have found some drop dead gorgeous earrings, or brand new silk scarves that "used to have 30$" price tags, for a mere 1$! (donated goods to my church for tax write off)
I donate clothes every year to my church charity. they think it is a big deal when I donate, but I don't (LOL)
FYI I dress very basic, but I always add a splash of color here and there.
see, i'll splurge on one thing that could go with many things (like a pull-over jumper or a skirt) and then buy some cheaper fitted, solid tshirts (i go no more than $7 each). I also hit up Benefit shops, Salvation Armies, and various thrift stores to find sweaters that go really well with things. :) I have some of the cutest outfits from benefit shops. I love wearing the high-waist skirts with a cute little belt and a plain t-shirt. It's sassy, sophisticated, but not too boring OR too young.
I know exactly what you mean. I actually took over half of my wardrobe to Goodwill and other places because I feel I've "out-grown" them. No more screen tees or shirts with the brand names across the front. I've bought more heels and have changed my bra collection to Victoria's Secret ONLY! I'm 24 and need to look like I'm in my mid-twenties. Not to mention I've lost almost 15 pounds in the year since graduating college and need to get new clothes that fit anyway.
Now all I need is a job so I can buy new clothes to update my wardrobe :P
im 21 and i have changed my style quite a lot lately, i find i have gone from jeans and tshirts and street style, to a more lady-like, refined look. i have been taking a lot of inspiration from vintage styles, 40s and 50s mostly. i buy a lot of my basics like long-sleeve knit tops and singlets from big name chain stores for very cheap, but i also shop a lot at second-hand stores and goodwill stores, where i find a lot of unusual and often very old peices. not only am i the only person on the street with these peices (soooooo many clones!!!), i get so much more value for my money - 8 garments for $51 last pay-day!
I agree that being a recent college graduate presents interesting fashion challenges. I always look to blogs like fauxshionable.com for inspiration!
