I would like to go to college in another country after taking a year off from school after graduating high school. But I do not know what steps to take to attempt to make this happen. I would love any school suggestions or advice. Thanks!

I agree that contacting the school you are interested in would be a great first step. Have you considered looking at US schools that have exchange programs with other countries? Many schools have a full year abroad.

I'm not sure if you did the IB (International Baccalaureate) program at your high school, but many colleges in Europe will view your academic history in a different way than here--they have different standards, and enrolling in the IB program puts you on an equal playing field with other applicants from Europe. (Not sure where you are wanting to go to college abroad).

Remember too, the most important thing in choosing a college is putting yourself in the best situation to be successful after college. Make sure you are finding the best education you can for what you want to study and that the international college will be meaningful and marketable in the US if that is where you choose to work.

The first step is that you need to contact the school that you are interested in and ask them about the application process.
