I've had the occasional professor I've loathed... but I have absolutely no choice in professors at my university, so I had to stick it out. I find that sticking it out has the most benefits for me. I ended up getting good grades in the classes with bad professors... so perhaps it wasn't completely awful. I have had to report one teacher for his complete inability to teach the subject to his supervisor. I made an A in that class, LoL.

But the thing was, she had no game. She taught us incorrect information, then didnt even test us on the info that she lectured on or that was even in the book. Her test question were random, and had nothing to do what-so-ever with pyschology. The highest over grade on our test was a 56% n that was after she added a 10% bonus pionts to everyone.

Most people drop the class and go to a different section with a different professor. I usually stick around, figure out the professor and play her/his game.

By the time the first four weeks before school started had rowled around, all classes were full. Especially the psychology classes. A friend and I went and talked with the head of the psychology department, and he said depending on our scores from the first exam(which we just took yesterday) He would do one of two things. The first was have a "talk" with our.....teacher...(I hesitate to even call her that......) About her teaching technique and question her on what she claims to know on the subject.(She told us last week that there is no blood in the brian. Thats what really got my friend and I adiment to get her fired.) And two, he could do a laterial transfer. But all that would do is hurt our grade because we dont have the correct information and it is going into the 7th week of school. We want him to look at all her students grade, and if they are all consecitivly low then we would ,like for him to look into suspending her untill they can get enough evidence that she is a terrible teacher, and hopfully, all this will get her fired. On her exam was nothing from the book, or from her lectures. Non of us knew anything.

Usually the Dean of Student Services is'nt really inolved in this - it's the academic schools so she would have to start by chanigng her timetable during the designated period and if it's outside of that timeline she'd go to her Academic Advisor/Program Coordinator and if it's not resolved there it can be escalated to the Associate Dean in the Academic Office....

I work at a College and for the first five days of classes students can make timetable/teacher changes at the Registration Office. Did you look into that? Always get to know your Academic Adviors/Program Coordinators as well - they can help make suggestions with issues like this!

One way you can see how professors are before you have the class is go to ratemyprofessors.com ...its actually a really cool tool in seeing if a professor is good or not.
