What are some great exercises to do while pregnant? I wasn't concerned about this much with my first pregnancy and ended up gaining 70lbs! This time I want to stay healthier and look better. It's Very hot in Tucson, so I'm restricted to being indoors for the next 2 1/2 months at least. I'm 20 weeks pregnant right now BTW.

Talk to your doctor about Denise Austin's pregnancy workout video. Walking is great too!

Swimming, is good, as is aqua-aerobics, find out if your local pool has classes for pregnancy.. also at a gym, they should be able to give you advice on low impact exercises to do. (i used to go to a women's gym here in New Zealand Contours, they offered a pregnancy programme for expectant mothers, as well as new mothers... they took into account everything you needed to be aware of, and some more!) www.contours.co.nz

check out their site (even though you aren't in NZ) you'll be amazed at what sorts of things you can do :)

I know how you feel. I gained 60 with my first. I worked out everyday during my pregancy but did not watch what I ate. On that note walk at least 30 mins watch what you eat. Eat like you were eating before the baby. All the real calories that you need is like a extra 200 to 300.

Also on the swimming thing, some pools offer a specialised aquarobics class for pregnant women as well as tailor-made swimming classes. Have a look around and see if your local pool offers them.

Walking (treadmill or outside), swimming and yoga are all things I recommend. One of my clients walked uphill on a treadmill everyday for 30 minutes up until the day she delivered (speak to your doctor to see what is right for you)

Swimming is a very good, non-impact sport for someone pregnant.
