How do I motivate myself? I'm about 5'2 and I want to lose some weight. I'm 150 pounds, it's classed as a little overweight and I don't feel comfortable at this weight. I want to do some exercise but my motivation has never been high. I have a few fitness games like 'My Fitness Coach' and 'Wii Fit' and I used to play them all the time, but after about a month or two, I got bored, and I couldn't bring myself to exercise anymore.

Does any-one have any tips for me how to motivate myself to not just exercise but also other exercises? I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

i'm ard 5'5 and 167pounds.. but recently i start to shed some weight.. for 2.5months i lost about 13pounds.. i did not stop eating what i love but take only once in a while i just go to the gym daily.. i motivate myself by stepping on the weighing machine more often (but at a regular time for example:1st thing in the morning after going to the bathroom. somehow i feel lighter after clearing my bowels) once i see a drop.. i will note it down.. i work extra hard by doing more cardio as i am already quite built with muscle.. but if u're the kind with more flabs u should add weight training into ur exercise routine.. if u're not that kind who loves the gym(who does right) u can ask frens out to exercise.. for example hiking to some place to picnic, or swimming/ just playing in the water, or some sports like tennis or badminton will also help u to clock the hours. try to keep urself away from skinny peopl who doesnt need to exercise or just lazy... they will bring ur morale down.. good luck..

I have started boxing at a gym at the intersection of peachtree dunwoody and hammond, upstairs from publix. I love it!!I have lost 20 lbs so far, and have never had toned arms. it's one on one training, so no excuses if you miss a step. you get in that ring and start swinging. I never thought i would be doing it this log, but glad I started!

The tip to finding success in exercise if finding something you love to do and doing that. If you like to dance, join some dance classes with some friends or try a group exercise class like body jam, if you have a bit of a competitive edge take up a team sport, love animals? go for a run with your dog or even start a dog walking business and get some money while your at it. If you cant think of anything that you would enjoy i would suggest trying some different group exercise classes. If you can find them Les Mills classes are the most popular where I am and there's so many there's has to be one that you sort of enjoy :) I personally love body step and body pump(low weight high rep resistance training) so much i now teach them but also body attack (high impact sports inspired aerobics) and RPM (on a bike using different resistance in the pedals and speed) Best bit about group ex is if you dont walk in with friends you should walk out with some :)

Well, I personally hate working out too. Its all about finding something you enjoy that also gets you in shape. For me, I do martial arts (tae kwon do and tai chi). I have had traditional training in TKD, but now since i'm poor I just do it on my own. For you it may be something else. But you just need to find whats enjoyable along with physically difficult.

My tip would be to do as many "natural" exercises as possible! such as, join a softball team at school/work, play tennis at your friend's complex, or swim at your auntie's pool once a week! even some shopping with the grandma at the mall, or one of those outlet stores can be a fun workout too! mix it up, and get rid of the routine. downtime?use your WII when the weather is bad outside! that way, you aren't using it all the time and getting bored. plan something everyday! It is a great way to get a great workout overall.

Do you have access to a pool? What I do is 30 minutes of cardio and stretching while watching something on tv I like, then I go to the pool for an hour to swim. Just kicking your legs and arms around is a workout.
