i used to have extremely heavy periods and horrible cramps, i would have to stay home for days at a time sometimes. but what really helped me was going on birth control pills. they really regulate your periods and its easier to keep track of them too, they are shorter also but only by a day or 2. and don't be embarrassed that you are taking it like i was, it helped me a lot and it may help you

You can take the bath with a tampon in so no worries about gross bath water!

You may want to consider talking to your doctor about going on the birth control pill. I used to have this problem and the pill has helped significantly.

Believe it or not, the pressure from the water can stop the blood from coming out for a few hours (with a lot of people, not everyone). Kind of acts as a stopper. Small bits of blood may come out from the water kind of flushing it out, but it decreases it significantly. But by no means would your bathwater turn red or anything xD

Why not? It slows way down when you're in water.

Check it out with your gyno, they would be able to recommend something. You may have a condition.

-Eat more bananas! I eat one a day now, except for weekends, and I barely even notice my cramps now.
-If you start taking ibuprofen a week before, it helps too.
-Heating pads, corn bags, and warm baths are good, but take a while to work...
-Wear loose-fitting clothes, because tight jeans only make things worse!
-Eat healthier. The more junk food you eat, the worse your cravings will be, and the more blah and tired you'll feel.
-Exercise, even if you don't feel like it. I wouldn't suggesting running, but lifting weights, YOGA, aerobics, anything will reduce the pain. It also gives your mood a lift!
