I get bumps that itch and sting after I shave my legs. I think it might be the razor. Is there any specific type of razor or shaving cream that I should use for sensitive skin?

My sister just gave me this tip for it. After shaving use aloe vera and then use cocoa butter. Keeps your legs hydrated and smooth. Also for shaving cream use alveeno, works wonders trust me!

Waxing is always the best alternative...especially if you use an experienced esthetician.

I find that a good exfoliation routine is the key here I use a gillette lady razor and gel and I use almond oil on my legs afterwards. Most of the razors now are good providing you change regularly. The problem I have is ingrowns around the bikini line has anyone discovered the best product for dealing with this problem?

and yes, it does mean you're taking a bath in all that afterwards, hence why from there i take a quick soapy shower to rinse off the grime from both me & the tub. :)

i used to get this as well when i shave. what helps me is a bath night every week. i usually do a "spa night" on mondays after my 2 hours belly dance class where i pretty up everything from head to toes. soak in a bath with 1/2 cup baking soda (NOTHING ELSE) for as long as you can, gently exfoliate with a pumice stone from your soles of feet to however high up on the leg you want to shave. using soap (i just use dial or Dr. Bronners Baby Mild) build a small lather and shave from foot to knee, then your knee & behind the knee, then knee to hip if you do your thighs as well. i also soak my arms and hands, exfoliate those with pumice stone as well, and use an orange stick to gently push back & remove excess cuticle build up on fingers & toes. :) i found that those damn girlie razors never do the trick, so i use the men's Mach 5. yes, pricier, but if you get a good shave you don't need to do so as often & the razor lasts at least 3 weekly uses.

Exactly the same thing happens to me so I put off shaving. When I shave, my legs itch and are sore and sting. One thing a dermatologist told me was to change the razor blade EVERY time I shave, but that is not really a financial possibility---way too expensive.

I have the same problem, my skin is intensely sensitive. I use Suave hair conditioner as a cream and I make sure to use Lubriderm sensitive skin extra dry lotion. I also use a sensitive skin body wash after I shave which helps.
