What are your favorite ways to get cardio exercise while at the gym? I can't stand being on the treadmill. Any other recommendations?

I would also recommend classes, but when I don't plan far enough ahead to schedule myself in one and just need to get my cardio on, I do 5-10 minutes on each machine. These tiny short term goals keep me from feeling overwhelmingly bored. :)

I'm getting to start a Cardio hip-hop class soon!! I'm so excited about it! You should try it, too! They said it was fun, and I love dancing!

I teach indoor cycling (spinning) classes and have for many years and it is still one of my favorite cardio activities. Give it a try:)

I definatly Agree with those who recommended the classes
the les mills range gives you an excellent workout and there are so many different classes that there really is one for anyone!
i would recomend a Body step or Body attack for cairdo workouts as there are high and low intensity options for the whole class. Body pump is also excellent for strength and toneing, it lets you build strength without man muscles :P

SWIM!!! It's a no sweat way to work out, and you really feel it in your muscles afterward. It's even fun! Challenge your friends to a race or challenge yourself to new distances or speeds when you're swimming solo.

I'm a huge fan of the tread climber, but sometimes I'll mix it up with the eliptical or the stationary bike!

I completely agree with the class idea! There is almost always a class going on whenever I choose to go to the gym. Most gyms will let you hop right in as long as you let them know u are new! BodyPump is a great class, even though it is more like strength training, I feel really ready to go for a short run on a treadmill afterwards. Cycling/spinning is another great idea that melinda mentioned! It's WAY more fun/not as intense than you would assume from looking thru the windows. =)

Also, since I'm a swimmer I'll say it, "Get in the pool!" Some gyms have like a three lane pool. Swimming is GREAT cardio and very very good cross training for almost anyone. If u can't stand going back and fourth in a pool, check out these products: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001OXJPZS/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

I've purchased both- they work perfectly, come in all sizes of ipods/suffles/iphones, and not to mention 100$ cheeper than going thru the apple store. :)
