How do you boost your immune system? I catch every bug that comes around. I eat healthily, I don't party, I don't drink, I don't do drugs, and I take lots of vitamins. Despite all this, my immune system is still extremely weak.

This sounds ridiculous, but apparently it helps: garlic. Not only that, but vitamin C, which you probably already know about. And for when you do get sick (because you will), put tons of vegetables and spices (like a little cayenne pepper) in your soup: cayenne has natural antibacterial properties, and you can also gargle water with a pinch of cayenne in it (just a pinch!) to sooth a soar throat - it makes it go numb. And take long naps. Bundle up whenever you go outside, and do go outside a lot. Use a hot water bottle when you go to bed. And maybe visit your doctor to see if there's anything that will actually permanently boost your immune system, like a dietary change or something. And do keep happy. Find some kind of "treat" activity you can smile while doing, and do it every day. Eat chocolate - it's proven to help with coughs. And if that fell through, eat some anyway. (:

Fruit and vege and exercise. Even if it is raining outside, just turn on some music and dance in your lounge or bedroom. It doesn't seem like much, but it can be lots of fun, and get's you fit!!

I also find that going for a walk helps, and when I am sick eating (should that be drinking?!) chicken soup, and having hot steamy showers helps. I seem to get congested sinus's the most. Hope that helps.

dont try too hard. people who have super clean homes and do everything they can to prevent germs have very low immune systems. so if something comes around it is a lot worse for them. one little cold now and then wont hurt you.

Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables(vary a lot). I think the best way to get enough vitamins, is just by getting it from your food instead of taking supplements. When you eat healthy and varied there should be no deficiencies of vitamins. Take exercise. Sport makes you stronger. Maybe, if you want, you can try some herbal products: echinaceae is good to boost the immune system. But be sure to take the prescribed doses, 'cause herbal products aren't always that innocent.

Thanks for the help, girlies. I do take pro-biotics regularly... I have a feeling that the majority of it is due to my stress factors. I've been tested for anemia and so many other things, and doctors still haven't found what's wrong...

Stress is a big factor in health so listen to the girls, takes some "me" time, take a yoga class, I did and found it was a great way to wind down as well as tone up, it takes some time to get into but once you're in there you'll find yourself more intouch with your body. Also if you're really run down from a bout of bad illness go to your doc, see if you can get a vitamin B shot for an immune boost, you may find you're actually lacking something in your diet so it's worth your while to get some tests just to see if there is a physical problem, most of the time it can be easily corrected, if you're lacking vitamin B you may also be a bit anemic which can also make you feel quite sick. I hope this helps, it helped me.

How is your mental health? I've always been quite health conscious, but I went through a really low period in my life where I was under constant low-level stress and felt sad a lot of the time - and I used to get *everything* that went around, summer colds, cold sores, viruses - the lot!!

If you're on a low ebb make sure you're making enough time to do the things that make you happy, and relax, spend time with people who make you feel good, give your body a chance to REALLY repair itself so it can fight off bugs - it worked for me at least!!

Hope you feel better :o) x x

eat stuff with pro-biotics! they boost your immune system. there are plenty of yogurts out there. and actually, using hand sanitizer kills your own defenses. if you wash your hands, use regular soap. some people are born with genetics from their parents to fight colds. if you ever have kids, because you've gotten sick a lot, they're more likely to have a better immune system. i also chug a glass with some Airborne in it. That is a natural vitamin complex made to boost your immune system, meant to be taken every day; not when you're getting sick, as most people assume. Hope this helps ;)
