Your question

I love my college roommate and she is totally amazing. The one thing that's been bothering me a lot lately is that she eats her boogers, eats pimple pus, and the crusty stuff you get when you sleep. She only does it around her family and her SUPER close friends. It really bothered me at first and I just let it slide, but lately she's been doing it more and it's now starting to make me physically sick. She's very well adjusted in society, but I'm just wondering if maybe that's a sign of a mental or psychological disorder. I've tried to research into it and the places I've been to have not been helpful and I usually can't stomach what people say about it. I have asked her about it before and she just told me that she likes the texture, which just makes me really nauseous. I've read that eating boogers actually boosts your immune system, but I just don't understand how that could be possible. There are MUCH better ways of boosting your immune system that are much less embarrassing.

How can I bring this up to her in a way that wouldn't hurt her feelings or put a strain on our relationship? Has anyone else been in this situation? I'm really embarrassed for her and I want to help her. I just don't want it to hurt the awesome friendship we have.

Your question

I just moved home for the summer two days ago from college. My parents are already driving me nuts. I feel like they pick on every little thing I do and I constantly have to check in with them. I miss my independence and not having to be berated for wanting to be a special education teacher or under my moms scrutiny for my weight (I'm an average weight, probably could loose a few lbs, but its nothing life threatening). I don't know how I'm going to manage living with them the whole summer!

Is it bad to go to community college for an associate's in general studies? I'm going transfer when I move back to the US for a BHS then get a Master's in PT. Does that sound like a good plan?

Your question

I attend a community college in California, I've always loved the college and never had any issues; in fact, next semester is my last semester there before I transfer (finally!). But lately, I've been having issues with the faculty at my college. I won't get into the nitty-gritty of it but in short:

A faculty member told me that she is whom I should contact if I should have any questions regarding my issue (financial aid); and she was giving me directions on how to get it reinstated in the spring semester (I lost it for the fall) but she was continually giving me conflicting or false information, or simply out-right refusing to answer my questions or help me (all of which I still have evidence of in her e-mails to me over the last several months).

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from the Dean of Students telling me it was in my best interest to refrain from sending any more e-mails to the Financial Aid office because I was, for lack of a better word, harassing them. She informed me I was in violation of the Student Code of Conduct (specifically 1) making unreasonable demands and 2) disrupting the educational process of the college) and that if I sent any more e-mails she would take disciplinary action against me in the form of kicking me out, ruining my academic standing, and baring me from attending any other college or university.

I don't know what to do. I'm scared and don't want to get kicked out of school, but they're clearly treating me justly. I've had to go to the counselor at school because I'm so worried and stressed about the situation. I don't understand how I'm harassing anyone, I'm just a student asking for help trying to understand how it all works.

I Thought I'd Love It...Again.

I'm now in my third year of college, doing a third course, and the last two years I'e absolutely loved my courses and got on with the work load pretty well, but this year I'm so unbelievably behind already and have been trying to get back on my feet after so many things have already gone wrong this year that my new course just makes me stressed. I love the subject but as we get deeper into the course I've found that I love not being surrounded by the work of it even more. I want to continue in college, but I don't like the course I'm on at all. I miss doing the art course I did in the first year, because even when I was struggling with coursework I was doing fine and could pick myself back up again. This year I'm on anti-depressants, waiting for a court case to develope, and going through a little family drama. I'm not a part of the drama, but it surrounds me and I hate it because I can't do anything about it.

I'm currently in a relationship with a hard working, intelligent, optimistic, funny, cute, sweet, caring, kind, out-going, A*-grade guy who aspires to be a college lecturer in politics, is completing his final year of college and wishes to go to the University of Cambridge, which is one of the top uni's in my country. When I'm around him I have no stress, no worries, not sadness and nothing bothers me, I've told him how I feel about college this year and he says that he's willing to help me, but he has enough to do.

I want to drop out, get a job and re-apply for next year to take a two year, fine art course. He thinks that I should finish up the year, try my best and see how I get on, he says that if I'm still miserable on it then I should re-apply.

What do you think I should do?

Your question

I need help! I'm a freshman in college at a small school and everything was going great until 2 weeks ago. My sexuality came up to the girls I had become friends with. I'm a lesbian and I'm not ashamed of it. My family knows and accepts it. But now these girls have disowned me and are trying to make my life hell. It's gotten so bad I don't want to leave my dorm room because I'm scared of what they will do next. I don't want my family to worry about me so I haven't told them what is going on but I'm so depressed about it and don't know what to do. I'm being bullied and I know it and I don't know what to do. Please help!

Your question

So about a week ago my roommates roommate moved out, she could not afford the dorm we are living in and moved down. So I just moved in two days ago, the problem that I have is that the girl now has an awful roommate. Her boyfriend sleeps over every night, and they usually do things, or are really disrespectful to the room. Well tonight she slept over. My roommates were taking to her saying that they will clear the cleaning closet for her so she can put all her stuff in the closet and then she can stay with us. Without ever even asking me. I think just one night it is okay for her to sleep over, but I do not want to make it an everyday thing because she will become no different than the girl and her boyfriend. She has been going from dorm to dorm every night trying to find a place to stay since her new roommate and boyfriend will not give it a rest. I told her countless amounts of times tonight to either tell someone a head of the living staff, or just tell the girl herself that she does not like/is uncomfortable with her boyfriend sleeping there, but she asks as if she did not hear me. How do I go about asking my roommate to NOT let her sleep over every night, without them getting mad at me or retaliating? I have no problem if the girl sleeps over ONE night out of the week, like a Thursday, but making it an everyday habit will not fly with me. I am not very confrontational, so I need a nice polite way of going about this. We have apartment style living with four girls, however there are only two rooms. The beds are bunked but there are two closets, desk etc. if that makes a difference.
